Prepping For Class

Please note that the materials are not included.

If you have the following in your craft supply, feel free to use what you’ve got and purchase any others you may need.

For class, you must have the following:

  • 12" embroidery hoop - I like a Morgan no-slip hoop, but any plastic or wood embroidery hoop will work just fine
  • Burlap or rug linen backing fabric, cut to 16"x16" - Any color
  • Rug hook - I recommend this Joan Moshimer hook
  • 3-4oz. total of wool yarn (at least 80% wool) - Your choice of colors. For weight, please get worsted and/or rug yarn. See below for suggestions.
  • Sharp scissors
  • Printout of your chosen design or your own pre-drawn 6"x6" pattern
  • Ruler
  • Black permanent marker (sharpie)
  • Masking, packing, or painters tape
  • Window (to use as a lightbox for tracing)
  • Iron
  • Small clean kitchen or bath towel
  • Embroidery thread -any color
  • Small darning needle -or any long sewing needle that embroidery thread can fit through

FAQs

Will the class be recorded?

No. Classes will not be recorded or saved, so you must arrive in the Zoom call at the designated class time.

Do you have a kit I can purchase for this class?

At this time, I do not have kits available.

My art studio space is also my home, so I am very limited with storage and I'm not able to keep inventory or lots of supplies for kits.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel and receive a full refund of the class fee up to 10 days before class begins. If you need to cancel within the 10 day window, you will not be issued a refund, but you’re welcome to transfer your spot to someone you know. You must notify me of this change with the full name and email of the person taking your place.

If I (as the Teacher) need to cancel the class for any reason, you will receive a full refund of the class fee.

Do I need meditation or craft experience?

No. This is meant to be a welcoming class for anyone and those who might not have much experience with either.

Hi there, I'm Erin!

Contemporary Rug Hooking Artist and Teacher

I really enjoy being a part of a like minded group of artist and crafters. It's an opportunity to feel inspired, be curious to learn something new, share ideas, make lifelong friendships, contemplate on life and craft, and, in that way, we can be more supportive of ourselves and our artistic souls.

My hope is that you will feel inspired in your crafting.

I’m looking forward to meeting you!
